Why do volunteers matter to us?
We believe citizen volunteers are more than filling a time slot in a schedule. Volunteers are vital to our charity accomplishing the mission/vision we are promoting. We strive to become strategically aligned with the goals and priorities while implementing the mission. Our volunteers benefit from engaging with clients, building community connections and fulfilling specific tasks to assist with operations.
What volunteer opportunities do we have available?
We strive to maintain a volunteer program that provides a variety of skill-based roles to include cleaning showers and bathrooms. We need volunteers to assist with greeting or directing clients, completing intake forms, kitchen helper, or entertaining children while a parent showers. There is availability of short-term, long-term, and flexibility with regards to shifts or days.
Will volunteers be offered training?
In addition to training volunteers, we provide our volunteers with a policy handbook and role responsibilities checklist. We anticipate the tangible resources needed to complete each opportunity and provide each volunteer with the necessary tools, such as cleaning products, replacement towels, and access to appliances as needed. Currently volunteers will maintain contact with program manager until we obtain a volunteer coordinator to oversee the supervision and management of our volunteers.
